At Round 8 of the US Supercross in 2002, Ricky Carmichael is still on fire. After a lacklustre start to the season, Ricky has sucked it up, and gone on to win four races this year, but rival David Vullemin has been on the podium every race, with a consistency that still sees him the points leader. Jeremy McGrath had his best result so far this season, with a third place. Mike LaRocco still holds third place in the championship, despite being out with a wrist injury.

By finishing runner up, Hurley has extended his lead over Craig Anderson, who is his nearest competition so far this year.

Troy Carroll continued his good form, taking 2 wins from three starts to sneak in front of Troy Dorron in the series standings.

My first (two day) ride with AMTRA was to Millicent, South Australia.

The ride was rated moderate/hard due to the large amount of beach/sand riding, moving off into forest riding on the second day.

Well it happened that the SA Police picked the Friday night to put a Breathalyser on the freeway coming out of Adelaide! Which delayed my Pickup by Mark & Ian by at least 30 minutes.

Anyway, they arrived, We put the XR onto the trailer with the other two bikes, showed the gear into the back of the station wagon, and off we rolled.
