AMA National Hare Scrambles; Round 2, Hollister, CA

The second round of the AMA National Hare Scrambles was held in Hollister, CA and the conditions were dry, dusty and hard packed.

Ohio resident Robbie Jenks jumped off the line in the top group and battled with Nathan Woods and Ricky Dietrich throughout the entire three hour and fifteen minute race until the rain started to come down. The 12-mile loop mainly consisting of fire roads started getting more and more treacherous as lapped-traffic became thicker and Jenks got caught behind them.

A great effort was put forth by Robbie and he finished his day in third.

Everts enjoys perfect season kickoff

With a second place and two heat wins Stefan Everts claimed victory for the third consecutive time in the Starcross di Mantova race in Italy. Riding in perfect harmony with his new aluminum framed Yamaha YZ450FM, the nine times world champion from Belgium opened the 2006 motocross season in the best possible way.

In the first heat Everts had to give in to Sebastian Tortelli, the French MX250 world champion of 1998 who returned from the US to campaign the 2006 MX1 world championship. In the other two heats Tortelli experienced bike trouble and could not prevent Everts claiming the other two heat wins. Other then Tortelli in the first heat there were no other riders to really challenge Everts. Unfortunately this also the case for Stefan's teammate Cédric Melotte who was not yet able to go all the way, due to a wrist injury that needs more time to heal.

Yamaha’s Chad Johnson Captures 2005-‘06 Toyota AMA National Arenacross Series Title

Closest title chase in the history of AMA National Arenacross goes down to the final night in Denver, Johnson tops Brock Sellards by one point for title

AURORA, Ill., (Feb. 13, 2006) – Two high-risk moves set Yamaha-backed Chad Johnson apart from his rival Brock Sellards (Thor/Honda/TUF Racing) this past Friday and Saturday night in Denver. An aggressive pass on Friday night that sent Sellards off the track and a ‘roll-of-the-dice’ pass on three top racers – Team Faith/Yamaha’s Kevin Johnson, Sellards’ teammate Jeff Northrop and Suzuki mounted Zach Ames – on Saturday were the moves it took for Johnson to capture the overall Toyota AMA National Arenacross Series title.

REARDON & HOAD PAINT TOWN GREEN IN ADELAIDE SUPERCROSS OPENER

DANIEL REARDON is the toast of Adelaide as he led a rare Open/Lites cleansweep for Kawasaki at the opening round of SUPERCROSS MASTERS at Wayville Showground, Saturday night.

The 20-year-old Queensland slammed down his first-ever Supercross Open victory -- it was his first appearance in the Open division -- and joined Lites class winner MITCHELL HOAD in the Kawasaki celebrations.

Reardon, who is not defending his 2005 Lites crown, now finds himself ahead of all the major contenders in the Open division which again incorporates the AUSTRALIAN SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP.

Reardon took top spot on the podium with a strong-finishing victory in moto 3 of the Opens... relegating Motorex KTM's TIMMY WEIGAND who took a perfect score through the first two moto finals only to encounter disaster in his third ride of the night.

Local hero Bobby Fitch wins Lites Main

AURORA, Ill., (February 11, 2006) Zach Ames shot off the gate to win the $500 Weekend Warrior hole shot award but would soon yield to Rockstar Suzuki rider Greg Schnell. It was then up to Yamaha’s Chad Johnson to finish third or better to secure the title. Chad was running sixth on lap 12 and put a championship pass on Zach Ames, Jeff Northrop and Kevin Johnson in the same turn to put him in third and clinch the title. By winning the title Chad Johnson was awarded a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and $25,000.
