ok, first off thanks to all those who helped me with finding the problem with my carb on my 2001 yamaha ttr125l, i can gladly say that it is up and running now and i went for a easy ride on it this morning.
i need to tune the carb though, it wants to start with a half or more open throttle and as long as i keep the throttle open it runs, if i let the throttle go back to "idle " position it will bog down and die, there are a few jets and things to adjust i just dont know which ones to adjust? the throttle screw set is as tight as it can go, which should mean it idle high, but doesnt? i am new to dirt bike carbs. so any help to tune this thing so it can idle with out me on the throttle.
ps. the problem with the carb was a spring in the throttle pin had fallen out i found it on top of the transmission case, now it pulls good and hard through all the gears.
i would try adjusting the air
i would try adjusting the air feul screw, if its not that the problem might have to do with the pilot jet. Idol screw mabey as well..... mabey try putting everything back to its stock position
