Troy Herfoss - 2 Classes, 2 AMA Poles, 2 AMA Podiums

Another round, another podium result for Husqvarna’s Troy Herfoss at the fifth round of the AMA Supermoto Championships held in Nashville over the weekend.

[image:5246,left hspace=10]Competing in both the premier Supermoto Class and the Unlimited Class events, Herfoss had a hectic race schedule however this did not stop him from taking pole position in the Unlimited class before backing up to take the Supermoto Superpole win, almost one second ahead of Championship leader Jeff Ward.

As the natural light faded and the track lights powered up, the stage was set for Herfoss to record his finest Supermoto result. The first race of the Supermoto class saw Herfoss bolt to an early lead with Kunzel in toe. Herfoss led for the first 12 laps before coming into lapped traffic. Kunzel made his move and took the lead before Herfoss came off second best after a collision with Kunzel’s lapped teammate put an end to hopes of taking his first AMA premier class victory.

Husqvarna womens silver cup

The Inaugural Husqvarna Women’s Silver Cup wound up yesterday after two days of hard racing and major carnage. As part of its commitment to women’s motocross, Husqvarna Australia sponsored the female category at the Queensland Quad Championships held at the Stanmore facility over the weekend.

The event involved 5 races over the two day meeting with a field of 18 competitive girls vying for a share in the $1200 prize money on offer. The action came thick and fast as the girls ripped through the track. The intensity was clearly visible throughout the weekend, several girls pushing a little too hard leaving two girls hospitalised.

Moonta Camp

Drove up straight from work & saw Mark & Dora at the Shell at Wakefield as well as old member Adrian Watson & wife Val. Had a quick catch up with them & headed on to camp.

Arrived to the usual well lit oasis on the farm with the welcoming fire attended by our hosts Ben & Katie with a few friends & fellow campers already in residence. Set up camp on the lawn, plugged the extension lead for the electric blanket in & headed to the fire to catch up with all & sundry as others arrived during the evening.

8 riders headed off on time at 10am, after a late night, lead by the new 510 Husky. A short run down the dirt road to the single track by the bitumen. Very tight, dodging rocks & branches keeping us warm on the fine & cool winter’s day. An excellent ride on the usual great tracks & beach stints with nothing exceptional to report apart from the fact that Russell was back with us after 100 days away on secret war business.

Electricmoto & Petrol prices

With the price of petrol soaring, the new technology hydrogen and electric motorcycles are sure to be gaining in popularity.

Electricmoto is the most "dirt" looking version i've seen, and they've recently appointed distributors in France, Germany and Austria to market the new T6 blade, which now features Ohlins suspension.

US RIDER COUP ON EVE OF BRISBANE SUPERCROSS MASTERS OPENER

America’s top supercross privateer TYLER EVANS has signed to contest the 2005 SUPERCROSS MASTERS championship? he jets in for the opening round at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on July 23.

Negotiations have just concluded which will see the outgoing Californian link with Team Motorex KTM – the Australian factory squad – for all five rounds of our national championship. News of the Evans entry has further intensified the Open class competition for this years Supercross Masters.

Defending champ TROY CARROLL sees his title under siege from No Fear Honda’s CRAIG ANDERSON and Kiwi DARYL HURLEY – both returning to local competition after two years in torrid US supercross action. And now the Evans signing is a major coup for both the local KTM organization and the Supercross Masters series.
