Supermoto WCH: 1st Round Cast. di Branduzzo, Italy

Van den Bosch with top performance!

2005 KTM joins the WCS with three riders. Two of them, Thierry von den Bosch and Boris Chambon like in 2004, and the new rider Bernd Hiemer, who rode for Husqvarna last year.

After a redesign of the offroadpart, the riders rode the second free practice on a "new" track without the speedway part.

Once more the S2 qualifying session was tough. Unfortunately Boris Chambon couldn’t push like he wants to and got only the fifth time.

Totaly different at the S1 class: Thierry van den Bosch played with his opponents all the time and grabed the pole position with a strong advantage of more than a second! Hiemer wasn’t satisfied with position four. "I have to push more harder in the race tomorrow" he said after the time practice.

SRCA

Well its all happening for some but not for others or so it seems for the SRCA members.

Mark Battersby and Mark Avard have taken it upon themselves to move things along in QLD & NSW and they have been running really cool events.

In Victoria it has come to a halt for the time being, especially after the January event at Sth Morang was cancelled. The final round was due to be rescheduled but unfortunately venues have not been forthcoming due to the cost of hiring the venue or in the case of Broadford, there is scheduled resurfacing going on and the venue cannot be booked for Supermotard until NOVEMBER!

Langston takes home his second AMA title of the year

South African native wins the AMA Supermoto Unlimited Championship

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Nov. 24, 2003) -- Grant Langston enjoyed the proverbial icing on the cake Friday night in Las Vegas by winning the Supermoto Unlimited class of the AMA Red Bull Supermoto Championship. Langston, 21, of South Africa, took the win riding a Red Bull HMC KTM. Already the recently crowned winner of the AMA Chevy Trucks 125 U.S. Motocross Championship, Langston showed equal skill in supermoto. After battling with early leader Ben Carlson and European ace Kurt Nicoll, Langston pulled away late in the 14-lap final to take the victory and the championship in the winner-take-all format.

Supermoto Season to Date

AMA Red Bull Supermoto Season to Date

Round 1: July 11-13, 2003 - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA

The first ever AMA Red Bull Supermoto took place on a huge stage, sharing the spotlight with World and U.S. Superbike competition at Laguna Seca. Troy Lee Design Honda's Jeremy McGrath stole the holeshot and controlled much of the race, with teammate Jeff Ward and KTM's Kurt Nicoll stalking the supercross legend. On lap 17 of 24, McGrath made a mistake, losing the front end ever so slightly and allowing Ward and Nicoll to pounce. Ward went on to grab the series' first victory, with Nicoll second and McGrath rounding out the podium.
