AURORA, Ill. (April 17, 2009) – The 2009 MX for Children Inside Line Experience’s third and final event of the 2009 season kicked off with a lot of smiles as six of the top riders from the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, series visited the Seattle Children’s Hospital for the fourth year in a row.
Monster Energy Kawasaki riders Ryan Villopoto and Billy Laninovich, JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha’s Josh Grant and Nathan Ramsey, and Factory Yamaha’s Broc Hepler all took part in the day’s activities. After an exclusive meet and greet with the top fundraisers for the Seattle event, the six riders were given the opportunity to interact with some of the children at the facility.
Thanks to their all-out efforts, the fundraisers will be treated with a VIP experience on Saturday, including tours of the factory team race rigs, a track walk, and premier seating for the evening’s race.
“We look forward to visiting the Seattle Children’s Hospital every year,” said JGRMX Team Manager Jeremy Albrecht. “It is a highlight of our season and is a big part of why we enjoy working with MX for Children so much. It’s all for a great cause and there is nothing more rewarding than bringing a smile to a child’s face.”
This weekend’s Inside Line Experience is expected to raise $60,000 for the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Earlier this season, events were hosted and both the Houston and Toronto rounds of the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross season, raising a total of $63,000. Since partnering with Monster Energy® Supercross in 2006, MX for Children has raised $305,000 and overall as a program, has accumulated $340,000 for charity.
“The Inside Line Experience is a beneficial opportunity for any supercross fan that wants to help support their local children’s hospital and have the chance at a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Paul Gross, MX for Children founder. “Every year I am blown away at the continued growth of the program and the increased support we receive from Feld Motor Sports and the entire Supercross community.”
As an additional part of MX for Children, the top teams and riders of Monster Energy® AMA Supercross donated several unique items of signed memorabilia for the program to sell for charity at its annual auction, further supporting the great cause.
