KTM sponsored rider Sarah Whitmore will head overseas to race rounds 2 & 3 of the Women's FIM Motocross World Championship Series.
Round 2 of the series will take place in Agueda, Portugal on May 10th. Whitmore will be riding aboard a race-prepped KTM 250SX-F. From Portugal she will head to Spain where she will compete in the 3rd round of the series before returning to the U.S. to compete in the 2009 AMA WMA Series at Glen Helen Raceway May 23, 2009.
"This opportunity came up at the last minute, but I jumped at the chance to race in Europe," stated Whitmore. "While I could continue training in California I feel that the experience I will gain racing over the next two weeks will be more beneficial to helping me prepare for the WMA Series than if I just continued my normal practice routine. I am excited for my first motocross race on the KTM - my goal is to finish on the podium."
