Could anyone give me any tips on how to shift up from second while performing a wheelie on my 01' CR125. I thought that you had to always use the clutch to shift up while doing a wheelie but my friend's tell me otherwise. I would also like to know if i should be standing or sitting for maximum effectiveness. NOOB RIDER
wheelie
Try starting off in first then shift to 2nd then give about quarter throttle for about 3 secs then goose it pull up and work the gas

just get in 2nd gear and go amd when u hi band it will lift then do a mono for 4 sec and then just click up to 3rd gear
Now you could start of on sit
Now you could start of on sitting down but thats just a little bit harder to do. What you should do is try sitting off of the seat about half way between sitting and standing then do what I told you. then when you get up and feel comfortable you can sit down and ride it. if you try to wheelie staning up you could stand it up to much and flip off.
when you go to wheelie standing up on the bike it will loose its front weight and want to come up and if you don't pull yourself to the bar and work the gas you will eat dirt
no you do not need to use the
no you do not need to use the clutch on a 2-stroke but on a four stroke you have to

up on one
when your trying to shift during a wheelie, NO clutch, ever notice at a high rpm and you try to shift up w/o clutch it just wont go up, well do this in a wheelie while its revin high in 2nd or what ever gear you start off in just rest your toe againt the shifter, put a bit of pressure on it and when your redy to shift, just let off the gas a bit and it will slip in to gear smoothly it dosent even feel like you shifted.

hey man you should start off siting down and then after you get good at it then try standing, the balance point is a lot hire then sitting. and you shuold use the cluch when shifting. but you dont need to pull it in all the way, just use 1 finger. if you have any other questions just e-mail me at hondarider4ever@ymail.com
