Im currently looking to buy a new bike. I love riding enduro and the bush tracks and want to do some racing in the 06 season. My problem is do I buy a 4stroke 250 or a 2stroke 125????
I am currently still on my first bike which is a CRF100.
My boyfriend has a CR250 and is all for the 2strokes but the enduro riders all seem to have 4strokes.
Could you guys please give me your advice?

i say get a 4 stoke if ur a g
i say get a 4 stoke if ur a girl, get a 250 2 stroke crosser if u want sum serios adrenalin rushes my m8 had a honda dominator 650 4 stoke same hp as my 250 55bhp but in the woods hes nowere 2 b seen and the things a fat cunt must way the same as an r1 or sumit
4 strokes
i like 2 and 4 strokes but i would personally say 4 stroke for trail riding if you have the strenght to throw the extra weight around they have a lot of down low tourqe so u dont have to scream up the hill like on a 2 also with 2s u have a lot of extra cluctch work
no way
no way man thats why the power valve is so handy on 2s so u dont have to burn ur clutch out trying to scream up hills. thats 1 of the resons i did not get a 4 cos of no power valve cause to keep up top speed on a 4. u have to be flicking the clutch like a mad man and u wear ur clutch out to the last doing it. if ur a quick rider dont go for the 4 uless u got money to spend on it get ur 2 and u can power valve up trough tracks with out a bother and u dont have to touch the clutch. on my 2 i dont have to flick the clutch cos of the power valve.
get the 4
in my oppinion, get the 4 stroke. first off, they are made for long, tiering rides. the 2 strokes, such as rm, kx, cr, etc... are made for 15 muinit motos on a track. the 4 strokes will take a hell of a beating and two strokes are very touchy and break down much more frequently. or if u want the 2 stroke get- up and go, get a kdx 220. my dad got one a couple of months ago and they are a little underpowerd, but put a pipe on it and u have a 250 enduro.
2 stroke vs 4
my bike is 1989 cr125 (2 stroke). You people talk about the clutch so much with two strokes but i only have to use the clutch to pull off, if i want i dont have to use it to change gears at all. as far as im concerned 2 strokes are far more fun, and not much VIECHLES (let alone bikes) accelerate as fast as a 2 stroke crosser.
4 strokes keep gettin better
4 strokes keep gettin better and 2 strokes are stayin the same even if u like 2 strokes by 2009 there gonna stop making them entirely so good luck if u like 2 strokes
bull shit
god dam u ppl 2 strokes are never going to stop being made, not for years to come do you think travis pastrana is going to use a 4 stroke for jumping and motocross. no all freestyle lads are going to use 2 for years to come, i have never seen travis pastrana use a 4 stroke. when david knight is not racing a sponcerd race wat does he ride, 250 2 stroke, so all that talk to 2 strokes are goin to stop, bein made its bull. every pro racer even says the most fun bike to ride is wat, but a 125 so i dont think they will stop the production of 2 strokes for year's.
hey
all that crap bout 2 strokes for 15min motos that bull shit. i ride my yz125 for at least 6 hours on a sunday doing all the hill climbs and every thing, so does that not tell u something plus david knight really rides a motox bike they just say he rides a exc.
hes right
2 strokes are a little lighter, in the short run there a good bike but in the long run the 4 stroke is better. 4 strokes used to suck and 2 strokes were the only good bikes but aroudn1997 the 4 strokes stared to turn tables
4strokes
I own a cr85r and I love it and i would,nt sell it for nothin but in offroad 4 strokes take the abuse alot better, first off they naturally come with larger gas tanks and are really good at going on long trail rides, second their power comes from the low two mid range therefore their good at gettin through rocks and when stuck they can power there way out....... But even though I still do better on my two stroke because the powerband gets me through the tough stuff but you need to approach faster than normal...... My advice is get something with large tires, large suspension and lights...... For instance the crf 250x
2 or 4????
I would agree with your boyfriend I have a CR125 ( MY FAVOURITE) and a YZ 250 were I ride in dissused/working china clay quarries I leave the bigger fourstrokes because of the better throttle response of a good two-stroke and on longer more open tracks a decent 250 ie YZ/CR can not be beaten for sheer adrenalin my final word is listen and smell your boyfriends CR and then do the same to a four-stroke there is no comparison( in my humble opinion)

i think ur full of shit
heaps of pro super x and motox riders ride 4 strokes. any even the freestyle riders are going to 4 strokes, u should get ur facts straight befor u blurt it out that fat mouth of urs. i will be please when the 2 stroke is gone and i dont reckon it will take long.
depends.
125cc definantly if your doing tighter tracks, but if your doing long motocross tracks and enduro than i would HIGHLY recommend the wr250 because of the headlight, and the 95 mph!!!!!!!!! My dad ownes one and it did run 94 mph until i took it for a spin on the track,.............................now im waiting for a new gas tank, seat, rear fender, and handle bars! WHOOPS!!!
