2 stroke smoker help

Hi, I am very new to all this. I have recently bought a 2 stroke 50cc water cooled spanish scrambler. Excellent bike, very well made however some issues. It starts very easily on first kick great, but when I rev it, even with the choke off there is a large amount of smoke from the exhaust even when warm and also a reasonable amount of oily liquid comes out of the exhaust. If I rev it slowly it seems to rev fine but if i give it full throttle, it revs up and then coighs and splutters as if its choked up, throws alot of smoke out and spits what appears to be oil out of the exhaust. As soon as I release the clutch it struggles to move and dies off as if there is insufficient power to move it. Hope some one can help, as my 13 yearold son is really disapointed.

There could be 2 things wrong

There could be 2 things wrong!!
1 is that you are putting to much premix in the gas!
2 isnt really a bad thing you just need to ride it and clean out the gears!!

hey, i have a 2stoke 250 and

hey, i have a 2stoke 250 and its just generally a pain in the arse, and have spent many hours trying to make it run right, did u buy this bike second hand? if so dismantle the carbie and give it a good clean. And if there is a regulator or some way of regulating the amount of 2stoke oil that goes into the engine, mebbe cut it back a bit and see how that goes. hope this helps

Too rich

Sounds like the mixture is too rich, probably the oil/fuel ratio is not set right. There should be a spot, probably on the carby where you can adjust it.

I may be near where the hose from the oil tank enters the carby.

Another thought. It could also need new piston/rings. Being only a small engine, it would probably go through piston/rings quite quickly, and may need them replaced.

I'd take it to your local mechanic, and he'll probably diagnose exactly in about 5 minutes.

I would just say, go out and run it hard and clear it out.
