I am a new rider that wants to get into the sport. I am 165LB and 5'10 is a 125 of 250 better. What is the longs lasting bike with the best stock Suspension? What is the must have gear to start helmet ect? Not looking for a bunch of Gimmicks just something that works and is fun.

Have u ever ridden before?

I have had both and both are excellent bikes. The 125 would be better for starting out on tracks, but if you want to trail ride and hill climb then go for the 250. The 250 has a lot more low end grunt.

I have very limited riding ex

I have very limited riding experience. I have ridden trail and what not but a fare cry from anything that has motor cross writhen on it. I want to ride tracks but all so would like to do long trail rides. I am in Thailand and there are lots of long trail rides and am just finding the tracks. How important are knee braces and what kinds are good. I don’t have any knee problems now but was told that they are a really good preventive for a really expensive long lasting injury? What kinds of boots are good I was looking at boots that very between $150 to $500 is there a big difference and will I really every be able to tell the difference?

whatever you do, dont get a 2

whatever you do, dont get a 2 stroke, u need a 2006 YZ250F. or if u want HUGE power go for the YZ450F. as for gear... something cheap, but not crappy. id say THOR PHASE: pants, jersey, gloves. and for helmet... HJC or BELL. unless u wanna spend $400 bucks for a nice SHOEI or TROY LEE DESIGNS.... boots, ummmm. ALPINE STARS: tech 6
goggles: SCOTT. that should pretty much do it. the stuff i listed here is definatly not top of the line, but it will get the job done for much cheaper
