Larry ward grabbed the holeshot, after only just making the LCQ due to an engine swap. The Honda 450 hooking up fantastically on the very grippy Georgia soil. Unfortunately, he slowly slipped back through the race, dropping it on the second last lap to drop him back to 16th at the end.
Ezra Lusk dropped it in the whoops early, but continued to circulate attempting to get any points possible, ending up finishing 19th.
David Huffman retired when he lost the cooling fluid from his bike.
While Chad Reed was catching Ricky Carmichael after an average start, he was unable to close the gap to RC, with lapped riders slowing him down slightly.
Final results were RC first, Chad Reed Second, and David Vuillemin taking third.
