Looks like the Success of Yamaha's WR250R has gotten at least one other manufacturer to take notice.

Whilst the Freeride E may not going to break any performance records, the release of this bike signifies a great leap forward in the acceptance of Electric Motorcycles worldwide.

KTM is one of the top manufacturers in the world, and as far as I'm aware, the only one who now is producing 2 Stroke, 4 Stroke and Electric bikes that are all at the top of their class.

Having a big manufacturer like KTM enter the market is a sign that its maturing, and that things for us as riders will only be getting better as more options open up.

The Freeride E looks very much like a normal dirtbike, unlike some other manufacturers, and it looks like they've thought about the fact that dirtbikes tend to get dirty more than the previous Electric Bike manufacturers, who have been concentrating more on Super Motard versions, which don't have such an issue with dirt.

I can't wait to have a ride on one of these beasts, and I keep thinking that the lack of noise can only be a good thing for exploring the trails.
