Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that so far my time at Loretta Lynn's KICKS ASS! There are literally thousands of people here, from 50cc's through to Senior Open Class Vets. It's RV Central here, and Race Semi's the size of Motorex KTM back home for one or two kids on 50's! The amount of money here is staggering. Everyone has a Golf Cart at Loretta's to get around - some people are pitted 5 kms from the start line! I get practice on the Monday, then race on Wed, Fri and Sat.
I get practice and my first real glimpse of the track on Monday night at 6pm. The track is really rough - rutted, pounded and slimy, and we've got a week to go! I practice with Jeff Emig, who's in the Vets, so I am stoked. I destroyed my beautiful OVER Exhaust last weekend, so the guys from FMF very kindly hook me up with a very schmick "Titanium 4" Exhaust System and it is running really strong. Every corner I come out of the bike is just hauling. They really get it dialled in for me! I also get my RACETECH Mechanic, Josh Bartnik, to set my suspension up to suit this track so I am really pumped!
I get my first race Monday at 11:30am in the stickiest heat imaginable! It has rained ALL week so far. Because the track is only used twice a year, it's a grassy field before the MXer's have their way with it, so it doesn't seem to hold the water too well. The officials are all working very hard though, so the track gets changed around about 5 times before we actually get out there!
