Yamaha WR450 mounted Blake Hore has maintained his overall second position in the Yamaha Victorian OffRoad Championships with a 2nd and 4th outright at the two day Erica Enduro over the weekend (Apr-30/May-1).
Winning two special tests out of 5 counted in Saturday's opening round the Christensens Yamaha backed rider was only beaten by NSW Offroad Champion Brad Williscroft and was happy with the second place.
"My results were good on Saturday," said the 19-year-old. "The conditions were not what I am very comfortable in, with the very high speeds and never really got comfortable but my results were good. With clubs finding it harder to get help a lot of these fast open trails are coming into play and I really have to work on improving this area of my riding"
"Sunday was a bit different results wise," he continued. "Unfortunate I dropped a couple of spots and finished the day in fourth. There was one test that had a lot of tight treed areas in it and i lost a lot of time there because i could not get a rhythm going through them."
"Overall though I am happy with the weekend and it feels good to maintain second in the championship. I am only 4 points away from the lead so I have to just focus, work hard and keep doing the best I can, there is still a long way to go and each week I feel I gain more knowledge and confidence."
Williscroft won both days to move within six points of Blake in the championship.
Blake now heads to Holbrook this weekend the 8th of May for the fifth and final round of the NSW Enduro Championships.
