I have an old 1982 Yamaha MX 100cc. When it's stone cold, it will start right away, but after about 10secs. it will stall out. Then after that, it is done for the day. I don't know... I got a new carb, looked everything over, and i donno. Can someone help me out?
re; can anyone tell me what is wrong wilth my bike?
Have you noticed there are a lot of posters on this site with the same name, Anonymous?
I'd check the petcock and fuel filter next. Sounds like it's starving for fuel. Could be the petcock or filter (or both) is clogged up with crud and the gas is only trickling through. That way the float bowl fills up too slowly to keep the bike running, but just enough to start it. You can clean out the petcock feed tubes with the rightsized drillbit but just use your fingers and lots of carb cleaner. No power equipment. It is 23 years old you know. Be gentle til you get out on the trail.
Let me know.
Dave
thnx
That actually makes sense. I phoned the local mechanic here, and he said it's my piston and rings and or cylindor. I didn't really whant to spend that kind of money, so i phoned to some other places, and they all say it's a fuel problem. I'll take a look right away.
Thanks, mr. moto
