AMA SUPERCROSS LITES EAST TITLE WILL BE DECIDED IN DETROIT

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (April 17, 2007) – The Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Championship is heading for the home stretch as the series rolls into Detroit’s Ford Field on Saturday, April 21. While Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart is in firm control of the Supercross class with a 35-point lead over L&M Yamaha’s Chad Reed with three rounds to go, the AMA Supercross Lites East Series is coming down to the wire and will be decided in Detroit. Three riders are still in contention for the title.

Boost Mobile Yamaha’s Ryan Morais leads the Lites East standings. Morais has been the picture of consistency throughout the year. The 24-year old from Temecula, Calif., has finished fifth or better in every round leading up to Detroit. Morais has twice scored runner up finishes, but has yet to take victory in the series. The last time a rider won the East title without winning a race was in 1997 when Tim Ferry earned the title with steadiness throughout the season.

U.S. Open Pre-Race Press Conference Featuring Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart

Las Vegas, NV, Audio Webcast, October 12th, 2005

James Stewart
HOST: James, it was a pretty good summer for you, you gotta be looking forward to the race this weekend.

JAMES: Yeah, it should be good coming off the summer, here I just want to get through this and have fun. It’s a good event and I haven’t raced it since ’99. Last year I tried and had some bad luck. I’m just excited about getting through this and getting ready for the upcoming supercross season.

HOST: We have the Toyota Trifecta on line – it’s something you’ve never been involved with before where the qualifying lap and the holeshot contributes to how much money you can make. Have you thought about that, is there any change in strategy for you to go out and get all the money?

Timmy Ferry’s performance was the highlight of the weekend. At one point in practice, he had the 7th fastest lap time and felt confident going into the evening program. Once the lights came on, “Red Dog
