Well, after ordering two weeks ago, and waiting what seemed like eternity, I've now got a nice shiny new Husky TE510 in the Garage.
I previously wrote that I'd pretty much decided against it due to the height, but in the end, the 24 month warranty, and all the good reviews I've read convinced me to go with it.
Only had a 2 minute ride so far, so other than "wow, grunty", not much other feedback.
Had Jeff from JayDee motorcycles (www.jaydeemotorcycles.com.au) revalve the front forks straight away, as I'm a lightweight, and they are reportedly quite stiff. His suspension valving technique is something quite out of the ordinary, I'll let you know how it goes!
Picked it up with a 15 tooth front sprocket & B&B bashplate, no other mods needed except some handguards!
While I was at JayDee, i met up with Jake (I think), and mentioned that I like open handguards, and i'd heard of guys breaking wrists with full handguards, but never met any. He was quick to roll up the sleeves and show me some scars, just to prove it can happen ;-(
So I'm glad I chose the MX style open guards. I bolted the Barkbuster egoX on this afternoon ;-)
I'll post some pictures in the next few days, before break in next weekend, in the meantime, check out www.husqvarnausa.com for some reviews, or www.husqvarnamotorcycles.com.au for some Australian details.
OK. Already did some pics.
