maybe its the mixture ?
maybe its the mixture ?
help me please
Sputtering and cutting out can be caused by bad capacitor or the capacitor not being grounded. Check the connections and mounting. Check the fuel level in carb, fuel filter, petcock, fuel flow, wiring connections, points, etc. Hope this helps.

I had a similer problem with an 86 LT250R i put a new coil and stator in it and it ran like a champ. but this was after a complete rebuild top to bottom with a new pipe, exhaust, carb, tank, air filter, the list goes on and on. I would start with the mixture as the above mentioned. and double check all your wiring...
good luck
do you have any spark?
Have you even checked the spark?
1989 rm 125
i recently bought a rm 125 that wasnt running when i got it, so after i got to have a good look at the bike i decided it needed to be completly overhauld. I completly disasembled the motor replaced all defective parts(clutch basket, clutches, water pump bearing and all seals and gaskets where replaced) , I also had the cylinder bored 0.050" oversized and bought a new wisco piston to match. when I finally finished the motor and got it running there was lots of power and it ran fairly well but I could only get about 30 minutes use before it stoped running. the problem i keep having is the piston skirt towards the exhaust side keeps melting and scoring and the piston ring melts into the piston losing compresion. The cooling system is working normal, I tried different air/fuel ratios changed spark plugs checked carbeurator everything checked out ok. I dont know where to go from here if there are any sugestions i would like to here them. Note i also checked the exhaust valves to make sure they werent striking the piston as a result of boring the cylinder.
