PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Oct. 3, 2003) -- Round three of the AMA Red Bull Supermoto Championship will be held in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, Oct. 5, marking the first urban setting for the exciting new series. And while the nation's top supermoto racers will be doing battle in the downtown of Ohio's capital city, race fans will be able to catch the action on their computer screens as AMA Pro Racing's popular @theWire LIVE! lap-time viewer will be tracking lap times all day.
AMA Supermoto is the latest AMA Pro Racing discipline to receive the popular website feature that displays lap times of each timed session, from practices to final races. The same web technology has been featured in the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross Championship and the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship, where transponder-based timing is used.
"Racers and teams aren't the only ones who stand to benefit by using transponders for scoring races
