Reports have now been confirmed that Jeremy McGrath has in fact signed a letter of intent with Factory KTM. One of the biggest surprises of the silly season, McGrath can now call the orange team his home. MC felt that a switch of teams might re-launch his career after falling victim to Ricky Carmichael the past two Supercross seasons. It is reported that McGrath has signed a four-year deal with the Austrian factory team, two years riding Supercross and the last two years doing R & D testing. Jeremy also had offers from Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki, with Yamaha and Suzuki truly stepping up to the plate. However, the main reason McGrath chose KTM was because his lap times on the 2003 prototype 250 were two seconds a lap faster than any other bike he rode.
The all time Supercross champ will be riding out of his own semi, with speculation around Grant Langston possibly riding out of the same rig as Jeremy. However, it is very questionable, since Langston has to be 21 years old by the time the Supercross series rolls around, because Bud Light will not sponsor any underage riders. No matter what though, Jeremy McGrath has at least signed a letter of intent with KTM. A side note: Jeremy McGrath is getting married tomorrow to his long-time girlfriend Kim. Congratulations Jeremy!
