It would depend a lot on the condition, the model etc. Best bet is to take a mechanic with you.
Perhaps try asking local club members, they might know the history of the bike, as well as have an opinion on its value.

Look at Everts Go!
Stefan Everts has been going great guns since taking on the 125 class as well as the 250 class, a feat that very few other riders have considered, let alone actually done, and won races!
Not only is he doing it, he's doing it on four stroke bikes, which haven't really taken off in the AMA Outdoor Motocross.
How good would it be to get these four together in a race!

i would have to agree with you that the yamahas are defently better than hondas. i have a yz and it is very old but it runs lyk a beauty

well i think yamahas r a lot better than honda they got a lot more grunt and power because i tryed riding a handa cr80 but my yz80 has go more powwer and grunt it is a raning bike i got racing piston and rings?

hey i got a honda 1982 xr80 and it was runnin a month ago but it wont start anymore, it was flooded but i think i took care of that, got any advice?

take out plug and clean it kick the bike over a couple of times and put plug back in ,if this doesnt work strip carb and clean this shop work.

omg dude your a goof that an xr80 thats not a race bike its a trail bike i gotta 99 cr 125r and me and my buddy race when we go camping i pull ahed of him in 5th gear they both have the same accleration but his is tiny bit better off the line. but mines a hell of a lot lighter than his is and much easier to turn
he rides a 98 yz 125
