i put my ttr 225 through alotta crap, and when im done riding its very hard to clean. im having the most trouble with some dirt that has gotten under the chain guard(the thing that covers the chain right where it goes in and comes out of the engine, im not sure what its called exactly). im afarid if i take it off, i might mess something up(i.e. bearings of some kind falling out, stuff like that)im not very familiar with my bike, havin had it for only a few months. i wouldnt care about this dirt/mud/sticks/grass if they werent causing my chain to rust rapidly! i need help!!

the only thing that cover do

the only thing that cover does is cover a neutral safty sensor and the sprocket . I trimed one up for a friend who has one so that it just uncovers the chain and not the sensor . take it off by removing 2 or 3 phillips head, look at the contors of the guard and trim it up but dont cut the guard by the sensor . I used a dremmel very small drill bit and a sand paper drumm on the dremmel tool also .and while you are that far get a 13 tooth front sprocket for a lot more grunt
