My XR80 has been at my friends track for about a year and I finally went and picked it up but when i turned the gas on it started pouring out of a tube. I reconnected it but now the gas is coming through the air filter. What should i do to fix it?
Sounds like the float is stuck open, which is simply caused by the gas evaporating in the float bowl and then leaving gunk behind that makes it sticky. Remove the carb and then remove the float bowl on the bottom. Be careful to watch for all the parts inside as you dis-assemble it. there should be a pin that removes the floats and a needle valve under it. Clean this all up with some gas or carb cleaner. Put it back together and go.
