BTX Motorcycles – Junior Race Team riders and support riders finished well in the final round of the Yamaha Victorian Junior Motocross Titles over the weekend of 11 -12 June 2005 at the Horsham Motocross Track in Victoria.
The team riders and support riders all finished within the top ten of their respective classes.
Troy Seraceno, Simon Cox, Harrison Saunders, Steven Bennett Luke Smith, Danny Ockwell, Brody Leitch, Ross Brown and Jack Simpson were present to wave the KTM flag.
Horsham saw some of the heaviest rain in months on Friday afternoon and night and the track was deep mud and the pits awash on Saturday morning. The promoter quickly altered the program of racing to allow the A grade riders on the bigger bikes to race whist everybody hoped that they had seen the last of the rain for the next two days so the riders could race.
Luckily the rain held off and weak sunshine broke trough that slowly dried the track to one of the grippiest tracks seen for many years. Lap times quickly dropped and racing became fast and close.
For BTX Motorcycles the best results were in the A grade 7 – U13 65cc class where the BTX boys took out both 1st and 2nd place. Steven Bennett now proudly displays the #1 plate on his KTM 65SX and Luke Smith the #2 plate on his KTM 65SX. All three places in the class went to KTM which shows the bikes domination in the 65cc class.
“The KTM’s dominated this class and I’m very happy to have both of the younger boys, Steven and Luke go 1- 2 in this class for BTX and KTM. They both are developing their skills very well and every week ride better. A few mistakes occasionally knock them around but they are determined and getting excellent results.
