yeah im in 125cc and to pull a wheelie, the easiest thing to do is to put it in second gear. If you put it in first, there's a chanch you can burn up the engine. Especially if you have a two stroke. So, put it in second, get to a slow speed, sit on the back of the seat, and pop the clutch

No, you wont burn up the engi

No, you wont burn up the engine, but you have less control, as 1st gear is very low, and there is a much higher chance of ending up on your butt. ;-)

Hi, ive got a CBR 250 RR and

Hi, ive got a CBR 250 RR and i would really like to do a wheelie, obviously because im young, stupid and they put chicks, ive been reading up about it, hearing about it and even watching it, how ever each time i have a go i always seem to rev the shit out of my bike in second, dump the clutch and not much happens, it just takes the weight off the front forks. tell me, is there something i am doing wrong, do i need to pull up the front a bit, sit further back, try it in first, release the clutch faster, get more revs, u guys tell me, whatever is easier i will try, provided i dont even up on my ass, but i suppose if i am tryingto do this ive got to be aware of all the possibilities which will arise if i fuck it up

Riding Wheelies

Doing wheelies on your bike takes heaps of practise, and your more than likely going to end up falling off the back (believe me)!!
When I first tried doing wheelies I started in first gear because I found it the most responsive when your trying to find that balance spot, and from this gear I didn't need to learn back as far, as leaning back on a moving bike feels very unnatural.
Once I got used to finding the spot where the bike blances on its back wheel I moved up to second gear which allowed me to ride a longer and faster wheelie.
The hardest part I found about riding a good wheelie is changing gears while your on the back wheel. This is somthing I have not been able to read about on any forums. So I may be wrong on this part, but changing gears I found by using two fingers on the cluth you simply do a very fast change, and after some practise, practise and even more practise, you can ride a sick wheelie for as long as you like, from first gear to last gear.

doin wheelies is piss i rekon

doin wheelies is piss i rekon some people just cant do them i strted on a dtr 125 in second gear cluth it up just b4 valve then could keep it up 4 a bit change to 3rd then it never had enuff power to stay up. Wiv ma KX250 i dont even use the clcuth to get it up just rev it in second then can change to 3rd 4th and 5th(watch out 4 the power band or ull b on ur arse) :-) just find ur self a hill and start practisin its no good sittin on here al day askin questions get out there and do it! ull have les chance of flippin it if ur trying 2 wheelie uphill trust me thts how i learned it just gets u used to gettin the front end up and keeping it up

as for the guys on the 4 stokes come on every 1 knows there easy as hell to wheelie way easir than 2 stokes

"""Balance Point""""

Wheelies arnt hard, there just all about "multi-tasking". Yall know that feelin when your at about a 10:30-11 o'clock position and it feels like your gonna fall right on your ass ( This is called the balance point ), well when most people get there they try to put there feet down ( BIG MISTAKE... believe me ) and thats how over half the crashes ive seen and done happened. ya just gotta bite your lip and tell your instincts to f*ck off and hold on, close the throtle all the way wait for the front end to come down a bit then bring it on slowly. Play with it.

how to wheelie

its easy to wheelie. all u got to do is go in third gear slow, stand up and bounce the bike (u can bounce it a few times before hauling up) up and down. try to do this on a little bump, then pull up hard and lean back. when its up so high try to give it a constant steady rev and if it starts to drop give it all it got. u can keep a little pressure on the rear brake if u have the fear of tipping back. i have a ttr 125 and i can haul that up in any gear by bouncing it. now i am getting pretty good at wheelies and i can also come to almost a complete stop in 2nd gear and pop the clutch and change gears in a wheelie and go right up through the gears to fifth and run out of revs sitting on the rear fender. now i can go around pretty sharp turns too. but to do that u have to b going fast. i do it in 5th gear so depending on ur bike...
