i am a pretty sereious rider looking for a fast 2 stroke that will do a trial now and then price is not a problem for me i have a job farming during the summer that brings in 6 to 7 thousand a year and have been saving it for 3 years now
thanks again
i think that yamaha is the fastest and strongest running bike out there. but yamaha dosnt make long lasting bikes. in a couple years if you get an 04 your bike will be crap. suzuki makes increadibly long lasting bikes. i have 7 years of expierence and i have an 96 rm 80 and it couldnt run or look better. so the choice is yours. never get a kawasaki and hondas run well but break down all the freakin time. if i had to choose i would get a yamaha yz250f b/c 2 strokes are gona be outlawed in a few years.
2 strokes are not going to be outlawed in a few years, there will just be more restriction laws for the exaust, and even if they were outlawed, it wouldnt mean that you couldnt ride your 2 stroke still, it would mean that they would just stop makging them, and Id say your best bet in 125s would be a yamaha, my buddy has a 2001 yz125 and its realiable never brakes down, but my real adivce to you is buy a 250, in a year or two you will be outgrown of your 125 and will want a 250, trust me on this
and not to mention, power isnt every thing youre looking for in a bike, handling as well as suspentionmy friends yz 125 handles great and the suspension is decent, but you say that youre 175 lbs, I am 200 and his 125 doesnt carry my fat ass around very good, if I were you I would definatly look into 250 2 strokes, however my friend is 145 lbs and the bike carrys his weight well
ktm 125 sx hands down they come with the best parts from the factory they also come with a 30 day warranty on a twostroke racebike nobody else does they are also the fastest 125 to date
Here is what I can tell you. I have been driving for 9 years now adn I have gone through all brands. If you need teh thrill of speed and think you want to ride hard, definately go with a honda! Suzukis had greatly improved since the one I had, but I still think that they are just average bikes. Kawasaki has a good bike, but I think that where they dominate is probably at the low end of teh engine (even though many poeple disagree with me). Yamaha.... that is what I have been riding for 5 years and will probably never change again. They are complete! Teh engine is full and if you get tired of the power, do so motorwork. Trust me, a 250 is powerfull but you will not enjoy riding as much!
2 strokes wont be bend its just a scare to try and make people like me by one when i no i dont want one they can sell 4 strokes but ill stick to my fast and afective 2 stroke
i agree with you sx125 is a great bike and not to mention it is the fastest production model of 04 i would recemond a ktm 125 and also its as fast as the 250 4-stroke
i think on of the best 2 stroke dirtbike to get is a kx 125 i have a 1991 kx125 it is very fast and very relieble if you mike the gas and oil right the bike has a nice suspencian and are one of the fastest 2 strokes around
i think that the yz 125 is ur best choice i am 15 and i got a yz 125 for christmas and it rides really good. it is a good bike if u no how to ride ok and it does not matter ur size i weigh 110 and i can handle it just fine but pick wat u want.
i disagree, just because your buddy had a kx or rm that broke down does not mean they are not good bikes. THE TRUTH IS YOU CAN NOT BUY A NEW MOTOCROSS BIKE THAT IS BAD
I think you should get a kx 125 or a cr 125 i have a 2004 kx 100 with a fmf fatty and it is the gold series it is cool. it goes about 75 or 80 mph. I race at tx longhorn and hilands. well i g2g bye
the best bike i would say would have had to be the YZ 125 2005. i mean the power of it is great and its super light its like a taking a pop can off the stand with the new frame!
the bike also has a great set up and runs great it come on strong on the bottom and pulls to the top. the bottom end is the best i have ever seen come from a 125. the egronimics of it are awsome there way better then honda, kawi, suzuki, and KTM.and for an intermidate a YZ 125 would suit you becauseit has wicked power to compete with 4 strokes and it will pull ur weight and you will have no problem throwing around in corners to me its the best bike for the job!
