Beaucaire International - Smets again!

Joel Smets has taken out his third successive Beaucaire International Motocross in dominant style. With 1st, 1st and 3rd results, nobody else really came close. A crash in the final Moto relegated him to third, stopping him from totally dominating the rest of the field.

Andrea Bartonlini grabbed second overall with a consistent effort, and Pit Beirer was third.

Ricky Carmichael and Chad Reed win again!

At Round 8 of the US Supercross in 2002, Ricky Carmichael is still on fire. After a lacklustre start to the season, Ricky has sucked it up, and gone on to win four races this year, but rival David Vullemin has been on the podium every race, with a consistency that still sees him the points leader. Jeremy McGrath had his best result so far this season, with a third place. Mike LaRocco still holds third place in the championship, despite being out with a wrist injury.

Daryl Hurley jumped to the top of the points in the 250 class of the Australian Supercross Masters when Cameron Taylor won the rain delayed round 3 on the 23rd.

By finishing runner up, Hurley has extended his lead over Craig Anderson, who is his nearest competition so far this year.

Troy Carroll continued his good form, taking 2 wins from three starts to sneak in front of Troy Dorron in the series standings.
