Ricky Carmichael, riding the Universal Studios/American Honda CR 250, is the 2002 AMA/EA Sports Supercross Series Champion!
RC has been the dominant rider in supercross during 2002. He won tonight's main event, and clinched his second consecutive 250 supercross championship. How dominant has Ricky been in supercross? He's won 10 out of 15 races so far this year, and 24 out of 31 races the past two seasons.
David Vuillemin finished second in tonight's main event, and has wrapped up second in the championship series as well. Third place in the main went to Sebastien Tortelli, and that's his best finish of the season.

Travis Preston, riding the Amsoil/Dr. Martens/Factory Connection Honda CR 125, wins the 125 West championship!
Travis came into this final 125 West race of the year leading James Stewart by 10 points in the series championship. James would need a little luck on his side if he was going to have a shot at the title. Travis needed only to finish fifth even if James won, to claim the championship.
In the main, Stewart took the lead from the start, and controlled the race all the way to the checkered. James did what he had to do by winning the main. And Travis did what he had to do - he rode smart, finished second, and claims his first ever championship!
