0-times motocross world champion Stefan Everts of Belgium ended his active career as a racer at the close of the 2007 season and accepted the new challenge of leading the KTM Red Bull factory team.
He goes into the season determined that riders should work together for the joint success of the KTM team in 2007.
How has it been for you to move from the active side of the sport into training?
Well, I am still very new, but I had to start from somewhere and now time will tell me if I am working in the right direction?
What is your main philosophy for working with the factory riders as a trainer?
All for one and one for all! I want all the team members to work together both on and off the track and to use each other to work towards moving onto the next level.
What are your hopes for the factory team for the first events?
I am hoping for a podium place for us in the first events of the season?
Are you satisfied with the pre season preparations and how the riders performed in the international events leading up to the beginning of the season?
Yes, I am very satisfied. I think the results speak for themselves!
What will be the main challenge for you and your team in the 2007 season?
We will be doing our best to try to win the MX2 title and to finish in the top three for MX1.
