Hi - I am new to this site (just found it doing a general search) and I am thinking about buying a dirt bike. I havent owned a dirtbike before (although I have taken general motocycle course for my license) I am looking for a 125cc possibly to start out on, I didnt want to spend a ton on my first bike to get started maybe looking around to spend $1,500 - $2,000. Keep in mind I am tall at 6'6" and definitely want to be comfortable. I have been looking at Yamaha (YZ125), but I am sure there are a ton of options for me. I was oringally looking for a sportbike but now I am just looking for something I can use on the weekends in some dirt and I always loved dirtbikes.
Any suggestions or advice you could give to me would be greatly appreciated. I thank you all in advance for your help!
hey
I know what im talking about rite. As far as im gatherin ur a 35 year old and 6'6 Right put it this way you must be at least over 14 stone for that hight and all. Hmm defo dont go ttr you will be laughed at i will laugh too you will only make a clown of urself. Get the 125 really im not jkin i started out on one ive got to the point im just scremin the engine out of it. A young lad i go around with is on a 125 hes 14 only hard part he has is picking it up when he falls off. You can drive anybike of anysize if you just dont trottle it the thing is getting good enough to pin it and it will all come in time. I know ppl who start out on 250 2 stroke what does that tell you.
Why are the YZ two strokes fo
Why are the YZ two strokes for racers and the TT 4 strokes for beginners?
uhm
depends on how much u weigh..yada yada
Unbeatable racer is an idiot
Ok, first off all the japanese manufacturers are neck and neck with each other and there is hardly any difference in performance. Kawi is known for powerband, yamaha for all around, honda for suspension, and suzuki is also well rounded. Ktm is good, but not as good on the track as the japanese bikes. husqvarna makes amazing bikes and you obviously dont know what your talking about. Ive ridden one many times and it is tit for tat with my kx 125. I rode a crappy tire baja 125 for 1 month and hated it for my first experience. I immediately shifted to the kx125 and i now race and hit jumps over 100 ft. Im 17 and about 140lbs, so for a 35 year old male who does not intend to hit jumps the yz 125 or kx 125 or rm 125 or cr 125 will be a great bike to start on. A 450f might be a bit to much to handle or 250 or 500cc two stroke like the kx 250 or kx500. I would suggest buying a 2 stroke 125 because they are much cheaper to fix up and rebuild than the 4 strokes. They are a bit harder to learn on due to powerband. If you dont think you can handle that buy a yz250f or kx2150f
