Short version:

Lots of fun, no (bad) crashes, trophy (in the mail).

Long version:

I rode two enduros 15+ years ago, but I knew nothing and did poorly. Then I got sidetracked with other stuff and didn't ride off road much. Since getting into riding off road a little bit more seriously in the last couple of years, I've been wanting to do another enduro, but for one reason or another just never got around to it. I finally got around to it this past Sunday (5/1) at the Pine Hill Enduro in New Jersey. This was essentially my first enduro, and certainly the first one where I went in with some idea how timekeeping worked.

Yamaha WR450 mounted Blake Hore has maintained his overall second position in the Yamaha Victorian OffRoad Championships with a 2nd and 4th outright at the two day Erica Enduro over the weekend (Apr-30/May-1).

Winning two special tests out of 5 counted in Saturday's opening round the Christensens Yamaha backed rider was only beaten by NSW Offroad Champion Brad Williscroft and was happy with the second place.

"My results were good on Saturday," said the 19-year-old. "The conditions were not what I am very comfortable in, with the very high speeds and never really got comfortable but my results were good. With clubs finding it harder to get help a lot of these fast open trails are coming into play and I really have to work on improving this area of my riding"

The first round of the SA Dirt Bikes Reliability Trial – the Phillip Hayden Memorial – will be held at Tarlee, north of Adelaide on Saturday 7th May.

The event will be held over three laps in six hours, with competitors facing both competitive off road sections as well as dirt roads.

Riders are started at oneminute intervals, with the first rider away from main control at 1pm.

With little rain in the past months, the trail is expected to be difficult, with dusty sections providing a challenge for bike reliability and rider preparation.

The Dirty Bits Racing team members have been training hard in the lead up to the event, with a combination of enduros, motorcross and a variety of club based events to ensure bike fitness and setup.
