Pull the clutch all the way to the grip. When you have pulled it back all the way, quickly kick down on the shift lever to put it in 1st. To get it in 2nd, pull the clutch all the way back and quickly kick up all the way. If you dont get it up all the way, between 1st and 2nd you will put it in neutral. Once you get it into second, all you have to do is pull in the clutch and kick up again.
