2 STROKES v.s 4 STROKES....Who's the WINNER

heres the rundown on the size stuff u dont understand

they race 4 stroke 250's and 2 stroke 125''s in the 125 class together
they race 4 stroke 450's and 2 stroke 250's in the 250 class together

those two bike are different in every kind of way known to man

i think that 2 strokes r better because with the right mods they beat and outperform the fours any day but if u want to have more places to ride get the four

get the 2 stroke keep um alive!

well ur right and wrong, i got a 2 stoke now and its alot better than my old 4 storke but my 4 stoke never had a faled out spark plug and stared in one kick, dont get me wrong i love my 2 stroke but its a little bit more to take care of.

I love kx100 they are little flyers. As for this hole 4 stroke thing thats startin up. please tell me if u pushed over a 4 stroke 250 and a 125 flat onto there side at the same time and picked them back up again witch one would start faster. same applys to when u cut it out. of course the 2 stoke thats why pro enduro riders pick them. ive won ktm525s and crf250s cause once u drop them or they cut out u might have to kick for days.

go with a 2 stroke cr., kx, or yz,rm 125 they got power and they will definetly get you around.

If your thinking about gettin a 4 stoke cause they got real good top end dont worry youll get any where much faster with the acceleratuion with the 2 stroke then the top speed of the 4 stroke... anyways 4 stroke dont have powerband whats the fun????

im not going to tell you that your bike suckes or any thing cos it was your dessision to by it and you Obviously you love it, but were do you get off telling people that there bike is shit.. maybe it was all they could afford at the time, or maybe it suited them the best, of maybe, like you, they just liked the bike.... what pisses me off the most is that people who bag out other peoples bikes cant ride for shit.... UB RACER, man dude you sure take off on people that are just trying to be helpful around here. I dont know who taught you about race bikes and all your knowledge on things but being that your only maybe 15-16 I would say that you have alot to more to learn then you have to offer.

Why dont you sit back, shut up, take a breather, and you'll learn more. Your ears and your mouth cant work at the same time. You sound like you could be a bright kid but with that attitude your 'help' isnt going to go far. Just cool out a little and people will respect your input more. Really its just a suggestion.

Ive ridden both, and many in between. I have a YZ450FR that is hard to hold onto. Anybody that doesnt think there is a 4 stroke 'powerband' well they aint ridden a very good running 4 stroke then. They will take off on you. You guys are talking many different aspects of bikes here which some are covering and others are not... I have always ridden 2 strokes and never in my life believed I'd ever ride a WATER COOLED 4 stroke dirtbike... but I am a convert and its awesome!!!

If you were to compare two bikes like a YZ400 2 stroke and a YZ450F:
For Quickness: YZ400
For Top Speed: YZ450F
For Torque: Same- depends on gearing
For Agility: YZ400
For Reliability: YZ450F
For Maintnenance: YZ450F (less costly)

So you see you have to look at everything, no ones going to be going balls out on any moto track, so top speed isnt a factor, but quickness is. agility is, torque is relative to whatever your riding conditions are. agility is relative to track use mostly, not trails or enduro, power is. reliability (how fast will it start?) well that is relative to your ability to not crash and how well you take c are of your bike. I have a hot start, if my bike stalls it starts in one kick anytime I stall it or pick it up or whatever.

Ive maintained all my own bikes and 4 strokes loose power as it uses up its piston-cylinder-rings clearances. (looses compression) after 30 hours or so and they are not near as fast as they were brand new. So if you have an old bike, it aint running peak performance if it aint had a piston put in it and some new rings. If the cylinder is scored, its junk too. You dont find that with 4 strokes as much, they run much cleaner, longer and reliably with good maintenance of course.

The fact is, 2 strokes have are more powereful, high maintince, but have more power, high maintinence is all about how much you love your bike, I personally happen to like kx125's, their just as good as any other 2 stroke, if you dont want to rebuild your top end but bye a 2 stroke, then your a moron, buy a 250f, and the dude who is yelling at everyone else about about how their bike sucks and how hes good, id like to se him race me? Im goin pro in 1 yr.

Ohhh god ppl 4 stoke are more maintince give me a 125 over a 250f any day. Im a proud owner of a 125 and the thing is, for motocross a 250f would piss all over a 125 on a track if the rider was any good. But in woods the 125 would piss all over the 250f why are all the gncc pro riders racing 2strokes cause they are better for diff things. Most of it is down to the rider too.

guys its mostly the rider, but i stil lean toward the 2 strokes

the second page has a dyno chart. um lets take a look the yz250f has about one hp less but look how far it pulls with full hp and the 2 stroke is just a lil tap of power then its back to like 10hp while the 4 STROKE revs on past the 2 stroke still with full hp. two's used to be great and they still are, dont get me wrong i rode 2's but when u look at that dyno u cant resist. sure the 2 has a hp or 2 more but wat would u prefer: to have a lil burst of power and crap all of the other time or to be throwin power around ne time u want it. i love 2 strokes but evry company except yamaha ignores them and works so hard on fours so i thought id get a four and its amazing. check out the dyno and read the article

i think 2 strokes are better bikes.they are way less money to buy.they start good if you take care of them and they r lite fast and very easy to throw around.but it is mostly rider prefference.i prefer 2 strokes but wat ever you like best is wut u should get.
