Timaru girl lifts motocross title by STU PIDDINGTON
A love affair with motorcycles has seen Timaru's Kylie Hanlin crowned South Island Junior women's motocross champion.
The 15-year-old went one place better than last year in Blenheim at the weekend to claim the title for the first time.
Hanlin won three of the six races on her Yamaha YZ125 along with a second, a third and a fourth to take the title by 10 points from Upper Hutt's Narrissa Strauchon.
The Timaru Girls High School student said she was rapt to win the title.
