the truth about 2 and 4 stroke

the 2 stroke lighter and quicker than a 4 stroke of the same displacement the rush from riding a smoker is incedible, there is less engine to worry about no cams no valves
better for freestyle or fun with mates
the rush you get on a 2 stroke feels alot more incredible than when riding a four in my oppionion

4 strokes heavier more reliable easier to use power slower than a 2 stroke of the same displacement better for tight trails or hill climbs

THEY ARE BOTH PRETTY MUCH EQUAL FOR RACING the 2 strokes handle the jumps better but the 4s catch up in the straights

the reason 2 strokes race against 4 strokes with double the displacement is because the 2 strokes fire every 2 strokes

the four strokes fire every 4 strokes so a 2 stroke fires twice every time a 4 fires once so a 2 does twice the workk so to make up for this they doubled the displacement

it is not fair to compare a 250 2 stroke and a 450f as the gearing and lots of other components come into it the only way to truely compare would 2 have a 2 stroke 250 geared normally and then have a 450f geared exactly the same this includes in the gear box and in sprocket sizes then have 2 riders of equal ability race

both bikes are good but it is wat you enjoy riding and wat u can ride nothing else matters its your oppinion

i have had both 2 and 4 strokes and i prefer the peaky power of a 2 stroke

NOOOOO! the 2 stroke fires every single time the piston goes up and down, so every cycle, its called 2 stroke because there are 2 parts to the 2 stroke action but 4 strokes fire every other cycle (compression then exhaust then compression....) 2 strokes do it all in one thats why they make double the power to a simileer displacement 4 stroke. AND I do prefer 2 strokes

4s are alot slower and less powerful than 2 strokes, but they do do well in the whoops.

well seeing as dyno charts show that 4 strokes have almost peak horsepower throughout their entire rpm range shows that the the rush u feel on yur 2 stroe is felt always on a 4 stroke. u do realize that 4 strokes rev higher than 2's even though they have cams to worry about. ya thats embarrassing that my 4 with all its rotational mass is revving higher than your 2 with only a piston to worry about. ya 4 strokes have more parts to worry about but u got to make the sacrifice for more power. also as far as weight WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING 4'S ARE SOOOO MUCH HEAVIER?????? my rmz250 is titled at 203lbs and yamaha claims 196lbs for the yz125 with aluminum frame(my bike is steel). hmmmm 7 fucking pounds, ya thats like comparing an empty gas tank to a full one. so stop saying f 4's are soo much heavier. its crap and u all know it!!! and of course the all time argument IF 2 STROKES ARE SO MUCH BETTER, WHY ARE THE PROS RIDING 4 STROKES?????????? BECAUSE THEY ARE BETTER!!!!!! the pros are gonna ride the best and thats why they choose 4 strokes. would people stop arguing this topic and face the facts that 2 strokes are being fazed out and 4 stroke are in control. ya 2's used to be good but times change. try and argue with wat i said, just try and i will tear apart watever made up evidence u have because there is no evidence that a 2 stroke has more power than a 4 stroke. just remember rider pref will always be there though.

Yeah 250fs are light i will agree. but 450fs are not light try a full day in the saddle in a enduro and then you get stuck in a bog ide hate to be pulling out a 450.

Really gearing a 4t and a 2t the same is not going to make the 2 bikes equal.

Yeah i have come to hate the 2t V 4t topic it gets so old, Yes some ppl are faster on 2ts and some ppl are faster on 4ts. Its really up to the rider i myself am a 2 stroke fan ide get bored of a 4 stroke pretty easy.

2s have fuck all power down bottom but when that powerband hits thats the rush you get with a 2. 4s have way more torque and power is spread comparing the 250 2s with 450 4s and 125 2s with 250 4s cus if you compare them with equal displacement you are a retard cus it dont work like that. I couldnt give a flying fuck who likes 2s or 4s all im gonna say is that i love my kx125 and i wouldnt refuse a nice crf250 if given one.

four strokes and 2 strokes are equal bikes it depends on the person whus ridin them u could have a 17 year old ridin a 250 2 stroke that has ridin for like a couple days and get like someone thats 17 goin to pro thats usin a 125 2 stroke and the 125 will own the 250 same with a four stroke it depnds on the rider...................so fuck all you guys that think ur bike is everything just take the fact that some 2 strokes are better than 4s and some four strokes arte better than some 2s.
