ok i just got an 1982 cr80 off of this person. they had it and something was wrong with it. so me and my dad brought the bike home and the engine was taken apart in boxes. so we looked at the parts and we noticed that the crank was gone out of it and the cylinder had a big scratch down the side of it. my dad thought that it isnt too good so we started lookin around for parts for it. we found a 85 cr80 engine it only was missing the top of the head because he striped the spark plug whole. it comes with the cylinder and everything and i can get a 86 head online. would all of this work with my 82 frame. will it bolt on the the bike or could we take the crank out of the 85 engine and put it in the 82 engine. which way would be the better way to go with it.

get the 2nd engone if its missing a craankyour screwed becuase youll keep having problems with it for as long as it lives or u do. get the one wit the missing gasket then buy a new piston and top for it and u should be good yes those motors should fit in a older frame if it does than all u need to do is a little hammering and welding and it will fit
