yeah, all you people need to look the bike up on youtube racing two stroke 125's. the crf 150r was made to compete against two stroke 125. It'll whip any two stroke 85 in acceleration with ease, and does about the same maxing out because of a stupid rev. limit and does just what any two stroke 125 does before it hits the rev. limit. I was racing my friend on a polaris 850 fourwheeler and he was going 63 (its max) and i blew by him with my rev. limit on. The bike from 0-60mph is a beast but it just needs that rev. limit taken off and im only 5'8 130.
I have a crf150r 2008 and my friend has a cr125 1999 2 stroke with racing valves and racing piston rings and my crf is a bit faster in acceleration and top end, we just tested it this weekend.
i always thought the cr125 would be faster because a 125 2 stroke is almost equal to a 250f and the 150r couldnt keep up with a 250 but i guess the bigger bore 150r would be faster top speed. But i think the cr125 only has 5 gears and i know that the 150r couldnt beat the yz125 because it has 6 gears it kinda depends.

My friend told me for about 2 years how fun, scary, and fast a 2-stroke is, and I always thought he would have beaten me from what he says about his bike, but then in the end we kept on racing each other on drags and motocross tracks, switched bikes and so on, but the cr125 just couldn't beat the crf150r...
125 two strokes are ment to race against 250 four strokes, and the 150r is ment to race against 85 two strokes. so the 125 is deffinetly alot faster then the 150r

i am about the same size as you, and i have a cr 125. i would get a 125 over a 85.
