hi folks,
"wrooster" of [url:99] fame here.
i noticed that some of the HOW-TO links in the "Dirtbike Book" are broken, a residual of our last database upgrade about 6-8 months ago. but never fear...
a few of us TT'ers have put together a FAQ covering the Yamaha 250F bikes (i.e. YZ250F and WR250F). there are tons of tips, fixes, hints, how-to's, and so on, all organized for quick reference. much of the information is applicable to the 400F, 426F, and 450F bikes as well.
anyway, click on over to the Yamaha 250F FAQ, at [url:1695]
a lot of the info is "accumulated" TT wisdom, some is stuff that we got directly from the factory yamaha race mechanics, and other data is right out of the manuals. speaking of manuals, there are links in the FAQ to the PDF versions of the OEM Yamaha manuals -- not page scans, but instead PDF output from the source material.

Thanks
Thanks wrooster. I have to say a big thankyou to all the guys at [url:99] It has the best information on the 250f anywhere, and the people are really helpful. Most of the information i've reproduced in the dirtbike book is things i've done/used myself on my '02 WRF.
Pity about those database upgrades eh, always screwing with what was working fine ;-)
I added a link to thumperfaq to our weblinks, and changed your post slightly to point to it.
and back to you...
simon,
glad to have helped out.
ps, i like the pics from your recent AMTRA/Victoria outing. i do a similar trip every summer out in michigan. you can read my 2003 version write-up here:
http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB10&Number=6…
after you read the story, scroll WAY WAY WAY down in that thread and there is a follow-up post i did with a whole bunch of trail pics.
cheers,
