i never rode dirtbikes before in my life or clutch..all i have rode was a 250ex and i pretty much mastered that..im a girl so im not a strong as guys obviously and im about 5'4"and am not going to grow any more. i just wanted some advice from smarter people who know what their talking about if im better off going with the crf 150 or if i will be able to start in low gears on the 230 and just get used to it buy time..i really want the 230 because i want to keep the bike i choose for a long time..thanks if you respond

125

u should really think of getting a 125 2 stroke very good bike and dont let anybody say to u that 2 strokes are crap cause world enduro chap david knight rides a 250 2 and he only rides a 525 because he is sponcerd to justan williams rides a 250 2 as well if u look at pics from the red bull last man stqanding alot of ppl use 2 strokes if ur more motocrossie go with ur four stroke but the 125 is light and easy to start and if u put a flywheel in it a baby could kick the bike and take of trust me my friends ex even started it and she was small very easy to look after too

yo

since u dont have much riding experience a 230 wouldnt be bad at all, there not to big, there fairly fast and even if u choose to gain a few pounds it will still haul around. ii think a 2 stroke might be too much for someone to just start out on though, since there completly different power and speed wise, anyway good luck with ur decision!

not a 2 stroke

whatever you do dont get a 2 stroke for your first bike.they are way to powerful for a beginner. i would get the crf150 for your first bike.both the 150 and 230 are heavy bikes so i would get the lighter of the two. i had a xr100 and i moved up to a crf250r and it was to powerful for me at first.

Scars mean nothing without a sweet story.

4 not 2

I just went from a 250EX to a CR 125, i think i would've been better off with a CRF 250 4-stroke, i can handle the 125 jsut fine but it's a little bit too squirley, can make unexpected moves, and it can just be a pain with maitenence, But if i were you I'd get a 230, but start out slow so you can get down the shifting. It took me maybe a week of riding and i had clutch down pretty good, and i made the switch in august.

CRF 230

I'd go w. the CRF 230. They're pretty fast stock and are very easy to ride for a first bke.

150r

i would get the crf150r
it is like 100 to 200 bucks cheaper than the 230, and you can do more things with it when u get better.

its your opinion

you have choices if you want a bike that you can keep, I wouldn't choose the 230 its a beginers bike and is ment to be temparaly kept. Even though, Honda's are more relible bikes than the other brands, so that leaves me to belive that the Crf 150 would be a good bike for you, it is a bike that is ment for trails and motocross depending on how you have it tuned, also the 230 is a bike ment to be played with like Yamaha's TT-R series. Another bike you could look at is the Kawasaki KX100 a 2-stroke, the same bike I own, If your going the race i would choose the kx100 or the CRF150 wouldn't go to much for the 230 at all.
