I have had my bike now for about 6 months and it seems that whenever i ride i end up changing the plug due to it being caked in oil, running 40:1 oil mix BR8EG plug, with standard jetting. Does anyone know what jetting will be needed to lean it out effectively?????
fouling plugs also
Hey I am new to the site. I also have the same problem I just got a 05 yz-250 and got about 10 hours on, and love the bike minus the constant plug fouling! I changed my ratieo from32-1 to 40-1 it helped a little I also wonder if my spark is hot enough, what does yours look like? how about jetting, did yours come jetted rich? let me know what you learn and I will do the same... thanks

it might not be the jetting, how long have you had the bike? how much do you ride it and how much did the previous owner ride it? it might be your piston rings.... also try running it 50:1
Hey thanks for responding. I
Hey thanks for responding. I am the first owner of the bike, I bought it brand new, I have about 12 or so hours on it I absolutley love the bike minus the fouling of the plugs. I run 40-1 now 50-1 wont be to lean??
i think 40 or 50 to 1 should
i think 40 or 50 to 1 should be good,
on my 125 i was fouling plugs when i went trail riding and was taking it easy since i wasnt staying on the pipe and everything kept building up in the engine, i got it re jetted to suit that riding style but it turned out it was my rings and piston were getting worn out
so try getting that checked by the dealer or somebody then tell me how that goes
plugs fouling
hey what kind of riding are u doing if u are doing more bush thats your problem the yz250 is ment to be ridden hard and if u ride harld then slow thers your problem going easy for two long will four it up i had the same problem with a ktm your can get yours jets changed to the sort of ridding :)
yeah
yeah i know your problem my friend had it on his 96 yz250 it ended up to be the little fuel and air mixture screw on the carb, go and find out how many turns out it should be i think my friend had to turn his out 3 and a half turns or something. just ask ur michanic about it im like 80% sure thats ur problem, cause my friend uses to go trough 5 sparkpulgs a day.
fouling
i dont know if im adding to much oil too, my first two stroke(really enjoying it)mixing 32:1.have heard 50:1 might be better for older bikes? any truth to this?maybe work for newer bikes?
