THIS WORKS MUCH BETTER , PULL OUT THE STOCK BAFFLE , TOSS THE STOCK HEADER AND INSTALL A LOW BOY HEADER , TAKE THE AIR SNORKLE OUT AND CUT JUST AT THE EDGE OF THE FRAME TO OPEN TOP , HONDA SAYS TAKE THE AIR BOX OUT , NO WAY , YOU HAVE TO PULL THE TANK , SEAT , UNBOLT THE LOWER SUB FRAME LIFT THE SUFRAME UP 90% , REMOVE UPPER REAR SHOCK BOLT AND PULL THE SHOCK BACK , DISCONNECT BOTH THROTTLE CABLES , UNPLUG THROTTLE P/SENSOR , BREATHER HOSES /ROUTING AND YOU BETTER HAVE SMALL FINGERS IT IS TIGHT TO PULL THIS CARB. LET ALONE THE AIR BOX ALSO . HERE'S MY JETTING SEA-LEVEL-APPROX 3,000 FEET . 140 MAIN 42 SLOW SPEED DROP STOCK NEEDLE CLIP DOWN ONE TO RAISE NEEDLE , REPLACE LEAK JET WITH A 50 FOR THE ACCEL PUMP . DO AN IDLE DROP WITH THE MIXTURE AND SET IDLE SPEED TO 1650-1700RPM. SHE WILL PULL THE FRONT WHEEL IN ALL GEARS , IDLE PERFECT AND BLOW AWAY ANY STK CRFX OR WRF AND WE DO'NT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. GREAT 1ST RIDE ON THE CRF250X YESTERDAY . WORKS PERFECT WITH MY CURRENT SET UP WILL NOT CHANGE A THING UNTIL I START RIDING 3-7,000 FOOT ELE. TOO MUCH SNOW NOW. SEA LEVEL-1,500 MY JETTING (SEE WOODYS POSTS) PIPE AND AIR BOX MOD AND GEAR RATIO IS IT. I'LL POST CHANGES AS I GO . SO FAR ITS THE BEST I'VE RIDDEN , 38 YEARS ON MOTORCYCLES IN THE WOODS THIS BIKE DOES IT ALL WITH EASE.

I RODE THE 400 FROM 1997 , THAT I TRADED A 1990 CR500R (MANY WOODS MODS ) THAT I RODE FOR 7 YEARS , I TRADED A 1983 500 HUSKY WR FOR THAT ONE , I HAD 1979 WR390 BURLYSON REPLICA , A 1979 390 OR , DT400 YAMAHA 1977 , XL AND SL 125S IN MID 70"S AND A 1971 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANS TRAIL 70 (I STILL HAVE THAT ONE) AND STARTED RIDING ON A BONANZA (LAWN MOWER POWERED) MINI IN 1966. ya 4 strokes r heavy and there lots of money so you might as well gett a 125cc ( none puzzy bike ) i dont understand why every1 is bying 4 strokes maybe couse there pulling bitch i can rebuild a 2 stroke for 100$ they have way better botton end this is cuming from a 15 year old kid like if i allready found out that 2 strokes kick ass i dont no wut the old farts r thinkin peace out puzzy

You have no idea what you're talking about "garth" Any of these guys with the 250X would walk all over you on any 125 2-stroke that hasn't had thousands$$ invested in it. When you grow up a bit and realize it isn't how loud your exhaust is (or mouth) maybe then your bad english and lack of knowledge will vanish and you'll have enough brains to do some research before you open your yap, Stay in school and pay attention. I own an 05' crf/x 250 Ca. model I cut open the air box, added power now & power now plus, FMF header & Q pipe, cut gray wire, changed jetting to 140 main & pillot to 45 & fuel screw to 2-3/4 out but I need more power. I'm always tapping out the rev limiter. I love this bike in every other way but I would like more horse power. Is a cam the way to go or should I look for a big bore kit ?
