i was given a ttr125 for free, and i want to play around on it, it has a couple minor problems can you help?
1: when idle its fine give it gas and it bogs down, i haven't checked yet but i am thinking fuel line or carb needs to be cleaned out.
2: the suspension is not set up for a bigger guy, i am 6'3" and 290, i am not looking to race it, but do some tooling around with it and want it to be a better ride, i was thinking bbr springs or possibly new front forks off a 400? and a rear end off the same? don't even know if they will bolt up right?
other than that any good sites for misc parts that i want to buy i am looking for recommendations.
thanks.
HOPE THIS HELPS...

Have you checked anything yet ?????
Hey Dieter, have you checked anything on the bike yet???
If no - get back to basics -
1.Fresh Fuel, 2. New Plug, 3. Service the Air Filter. 4. Good visual Inspection for any obvious Air Leaks around the inlet etc. Any thing loose, 4. Drain the bowl, air blow the jets & set the float, also make sure the float isn`t cracked & sucking fuel in, this can make it run real fat and it might idle along - but as soon as you stab it - you drown the motor with too much juice.5.Check the needle hasn`t dropped & the clip is secure. Also clean the slide and be sure the spring is doing it`s job.
Once you`ve got that out of the way - Ask Again if you need any help.
GETONIT
About the suspension -
Leave it alone until the bikes running and you`re sure it`s a good bike.
Don`t throw any cash at it until you`re happy. Get to know the bike & what it can or can`t do - then you can make better judgements on what you need to do the suspension. And you`ll be able to know if the mods improve it or not. If you`re after function only - you can sort the suspension you`ve got with some mods to spring rates etc, get the oil level sorted & so on, Remember - don`t spend heaps on later model suspension just for the flash looking gear, spend it on making it function to suit YOU & the way YOU ride
then just "GETONIT" ps. 6ft & 290 - get a 450 man!!!!!!!!
Dont goose the throttle
I just got my son a ttr125, We love it but there are a couple of things I noticed. It is a cold natured bike let it run for a couple minutes. It has an accelerator pump. if you goose the throttle it will bogg down, roll the gas to it it is not a 2 stroke. It was built like this to meet emissions standards at idle. My son loves it, first bike, but he is 5' and 80 lbs. It isnt motocross, but it is a fun trail bike.
