After a much deserved week off for riders and organizers, round five of the Australian Supercross Championship kicks off again at the Entertainment Centre in Adelaide this Saturday.
As the THQ World and AMA Supercross series headed east last week, Moto XXX rider Damon Huffman had only one thing on his mindthe World Supercross GP championship points lead. A spirited come-from-behind ride at the previous round in San Francisco showed that the 2-time 125 Supercross champion has the heart to win, but wasnt enough to hold his narrow lead in the standings.
The riders took a well deserved break over the weekend, ahead of Round 5 this Saturday, 21 February, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
South Australian native Shane Metcalfe will make a guest appearance before his home crowd. Though not fit enough to ride, Shane has made a fast recovery after a spill in Round 1 and will join Joni Pollard and Lee Hogan on the mic as guest commentator.
Tickets are still available - book through BASS.

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Feb. 10, 2004) -- A three-person appeal board organized by AMA Pro Racing has decided to overturn the points deduction penalty assessed to Kevin Windham. Windham had been docked 10 points by AMA Pro Racing MX/SX Series Manager Steve Whitelock for an incident involving fellow rider David Vuillemin at Round 2 of the AMA Supercross Series. In the opinion of Whitelock, Windham engaged in unsafe and unsportsmanlike riding by intentionally making contact with Vuillemin on lap one of the main event. The contact resulted in Vuillemin being pushed off the track nearly colliding with a photographer standing nearby. Vuillemin, who had the early lead in the race, remounted and worked his way back through the pack for a eventual seventh place finish.
Chad Reed continues his 2004 winning ways, winning tonight's main event. David Vuillemin finished second, Mike LaRocco third, and NIck Wey fourth. Kevin Windham fell, but worked his way up to fifth. Reed leads Vuillemin in the points, 144 to 114. LaRocco and Windham are tied for third at 112.
Nate Ramsey took his Honda CRF 250 to it's first win of the season & Nate's first win since April 2002. Ivan Tedesco finished second, with Travis Preston third. Tedesco leads the point standings with 147. The 125 West series takes a break now, with the 125 East series starting next weekend in Houston, and the highly anticipated return of James Stewart.
