Go Aussies Go!

How good are the Aussies going in the Supercross!!!

Chad Reed getting his second win this season, and Michael Byrne getting the
SXGP holeshot, and holding on for fourth place!

Ando doesn't seem to be doing quite as well in the 125 series though. New
bike, new team etc could be taking some time to get used to. I mean, he is
used to a big ktm 540, so the yz 250f has got to be a little down on power..

Broken arm

Bike type
2002 Yamaha WR250F

Well, its a bit late to be writing a blog about this, but I broke my arm on December the 28th, and just got the plaster off on February the 7th.

I was riding down a hill in the bush and at the bottom were some big dried up puddle holes that had been greatly enlarged by 4wd traffic. I was going a bit too fast perhaps, and the front end just whipped out from under me in one of the holes.

Broke the arm bones just near the wrist.

AMTRA SA Pyrenees Ride

Bike type
2002 Yamaha WR250F

The AMTRA SA Pyrenees ride this year was conducted with the help of the Green Triangle Enduro Club http://www.gtenduro.com.au/ , which has a property near Moonanbel, North West of Ballarat.

We chose to make this a family camping trip, and loaded up the bikes, the kids and the camping gear and set off towards western victoria on the Thursday afternoon. Stopping for some KFC for tea, then journeying onwards, we managed to drive to Nhill and stopped there for the night to rest.

Mallee Earthmovers

Bike type
2002 Yamaha WR250F

Well, I've just returned from a fantastic weekend of riding that was put on by the Lameroo Apex club.

The "Mallee Earthmovers" event was riding around the local Lameroo area, with a lot of single track trails.

Day 1 Started started at Tucker Motorcycles on friday night, where I caught a lift with the guys from there. We piled all the camping equipment into the cars/utes, loaded the bikes up, and headed out to Lameroo, about 2 hours away.

Since it was teatime, a pitstop was needed at the Murray Bridge KFC. Which certainly hit the spot.

Jetting a WR250F

Bike type
2002 Yamaha WR250F

Well, after a few stops and starts, i'm along the path to getting the jetting right on the WR250F

I've ended up with a 170 Main, up from a 168 before.

The 168 went really well with the stock Exhaust Pipe, but with the Staintune full system, the 168 has some backfiring, so the 170 is the safe bet.

Next on to the needle, I think I'll just be adjusting the clip one richer than standard also.

A career racing Enduro's?

Bike type
2002 Yamaha WR250F

Enduro, short for Endurance. Maybe that should have given me a hint of what was to come. This was my first go at riding an Enduro in the Green Triangle Club - http://www.gtenduro.com.au/

It all started well, I arrived at Long Lead all revved up and ready to go. Maybe too ready. I'd been dreaming (nightmares?) about this for about a week!
