if you know how to ride a 2 stroke. they are pretty good bikes, but if your just starting on 2 strokes then i would say go with a yz250f or a crf250, the crf250 is one of the best bikes out there for 2005
I was just in the market for buying either a kx 125 or a yz 125.... i ended up buying a yz 125, and i love it. it is very light and has plenty of power.
LOL I Got a kick out of everyones reply. They are all telling you stuff from older bikes. If you are buying a new bike then I would say any of the top 4 oops 5 (ktm) included would smoke any older bike due to technology. Then it becomes a personal prefrence and what type of riding you do. If you ride mx why would you buy a woods bike??? I would actually ask people that ride the bike or bikes you are interested in. Not just a Plain jane forum. Your getting info from peeps riding 1991 KX125's to someone riding a XR250. I mean this is a huge range of riders. And of course there opinion and bike are the best. how much can i get a 125 for? im looking to spend about 1500 hundred, i know hondas have been lacking the past couple of years and kawasakis had shitty supension up untill this year yamahas have always been good as well as suzukis so what should i get and if anyones selling a bike email me

Man this thread is useless. I would bet that the original poster is confused as hell now. I think everything made has been recommended twice and reject three times. Dude just go get a bike. You can't go wrong with a YZ125 made within the last 5 years. As for four strokes, again the Yamaha is proven. CR125s are under powered and can be a bit troublesome but still not a bad bike. We can find something negative in all the bikes made. But then again most anything is going to be troublesome if you don't maintain it. If your not gonna race then don't worry to much about it. If you wanna do trails then the 4 stroke is the way to go..unless you like fouling plugs and getting stuck on hills while the 4strokes pass you. 2 strokes are not gonna be outlawed. If anything we might see the 125 2 stroke fade away but 250 2strokes are here to stay. I personally have a YZ250F 2004 and love it. Lots of low end grunt. If your gonna gain more weight your better off on a 250 four stroke and in that case a YZ250F. 13 and 175lbs? How tall are you? If you're under 6' then pick up a copy of the SouthBeach Diet.
i would go with cr 125 it is a vbery fsast bike i ride a kx 125,but i wish i would have bought a cr 125 when i started racing im only 115 pounds and 5'8 tall!
Hi all,
my rm125 1992 refuses to start via the kickstart which produces no spark at cranking speed, but it always starts via a bump.
I have cleaned both the stator& magnito newish magnets, stripped the looming and did a continuity check which went okay, replaced ignition coil &plug.
whilst cranking the engine with my drill and a 14mm socket conected to
the fly wheel bolt i do get a regular faint blue spark but my meter shows me cranking the engine at 300 RPM,my old foot cannot keep up with that!!.
If anyone has seen this problem before please take the time to give me some advice and insight to this frustriating problem.

Just in case you've not noticed, all the magazine tests in the last few years find it VERY hard to pick between the bikes, as they are all so good.
So, pick your favorite color, or the one that you can get cheapest, but mostly, get one, and have fun!
