While luck escaped Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Rui Goncalves in the qualifying race for his home MX2 GP in Portugal on Saturday, he remains confident of a top result on Sunday.
KTM sponsored rider Sarah Whitmore will head overseas to race rounds 2 & 3 of the Women's FIM Motocross World Championship Series.
Round 2 of the series will take place in Agueda, Portugal on May 10th. Whitmore will be riding aboard a race-prepped KTM 250SX-F. From Portugal she will head to Spain where she will compete in the 3rd round of the series before returning to the U.S. to compete in the 2009 AMA WMA Series at Glen Helen Raceway May 23, 2009.
Husqvarna Racing headed to The Yamaha Queensland Championships held at Woodstock , Townsville on the weekend to take home 1st place in the Junior 2 stroke 13-15 years and 3rd in the Junior 250cc class. Jake Wright from Cairns couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. His Husqvarna 144cc didn’t miss a beat.
In race 1, Jake started the race in 4th position and quickly positioned himself into 2nd place, where he finished behind Shaun Redhead with a 1second difference.
Red Bull KTM MX2 Factory Rider Shaun Simpson underwent successful surgery to repair a broken leg in the early hours of Thursday morning, team officials have reported.
The fracture was the result of a training accident on the Ersel practice track in the Netherlands on Wednesday.
KTM Racing learned on Wednesday evening that Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team member Shaun Simpson suffered a training accident earlier today and has fractured his lower leg.
At the time of the accident, Shaun was training on the Ersel practice track in The Netherlands. As nobody was present at the time and until now it has not been possible to speak to Shaun personally, no exact details are known concerning the circumstances of the accident.

Cairoli keeps series lead with Benelux podium
Canberra, the Australian Capital Territory, there I was and I did not see Kevin Rudd. Where was the Prime Minister? I was expecting him to be there to see us race and at least sing the National Anthem.
Well he missed two days of great racing and a lot of people came out to watch us. Maybe Kevin was in his casual gear watching from the sidelines. I hope he was!
Paul Holmes and Team KTM UK now lead the ACU British MMX Quad Championship after an epic performance to take their first outdoor race and overall wins of the 2009 season.
Team-mate James Hellewell also doing the team proud by putting in a superb display to record his first British Championship points in only his second meeting at this level.
