Jim Beam

I've been listening to the Radio today, and it sounds like our longtime favorite [weblink:787] is doing the voiceover for the Jim Beams "Stay True" Competition on Triple M in Australia.

She was announcing a Jim Beam competition where apparently, you can win a car, a bike, and a date with Erin!

Of course, I needed to check that out. The website is a very sexy flash based job, with some pretty sexy babes in it as well as some funny clips.

To win the prizes, you have to buy Jim Beam of course, and enter in a code, but with over 100 prizes a day, its worth taking a better look at.

Dirtbiking is cheap

Well. i've just been watching the TV here, and there was an advertisment for the motor show on.

They had pictures of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc on. And i thought. Damn. Dirtbikers dont really spend much money. I mean, sure a new dirtbike costs a bit, but compared to a "supercar", a new dirtbike is peanuts!

What do you think?

Forums tweaked

I've re-enabled the buttons that let you post new forum topics, and placed them both above and below the topic lists.

Post away! ;-)

New site design phase 1

Well, after quite a bit of work, I've finished the first part of the site redesign enough to make it the live version. I think it looks better, and is easier to use. In particular, I've tried to make the forum section a lot more like people are used to. (Although I've just realised there is no way to post new topics at the moment. Argh!)

There are still quite a few changes to be made, so keep an eye on the site, and you'll see the new updates coming through in the next couple of weeks.

A big thankyou to PsychoX for the new design (which we are not very close to yet ;-)

05 Husky - In the Garage!

Bike type
2005 Husqvarna TE510

Well, after ordering two weeks ago, and waiting what seemed like eternity, I've now got a nice shiny new Husky TE510 in the Garage.

I previously wrote that I'd pretty much decided against it due to the height, but in the end, the 24 month warranty, and all the good reviews I've read convinced me to go with it.

Only had a 2 minute ride so far, so other than "wow, grunty", not much other feedback.

Kapunda

KAPUNDA RIDE 11/12/04

Ben rang while the recent meeting was on & said he had arranged this ride.

7 riders left the oval at 10am after deciding that it was going to be too warm for jackets & the recent thunderstorm activity appeared to have subsided. We rode back tracks to Eudunda & as we were consulting the maps to decide the best tracks to Morgan rain began. Within seconds it was pouring big fat drops & we headed to the shop for early lunch while we weathered the storm. As we sat there, the gutters ran a foot deep! It stopped after half an hour & we headed out. Unfortunately our desired direction of travel meant we caught up with the wet again. We were regretting our decision to leave the wet weather gear behind. We stopped to let the rain move away from us & debated about which way to go. After a while we headed in our intended direction again & found the tracks running with water, in some places a foot deep. Of course we soon caught up to the rain again. At this point 2 riders decided to leave rather than ride wet & get cold.

05 Husky - Nice

Well, I finally got to go and checkout the new 05 Husky 450. Its a very sweet looking bike, and from everything I have read, I expected that to be the case.

A couple of people have mentioned its taller this year. Now i've not actually sat on last years model, but I thought that the WRF was tall.

So it was with some surprise that I realised that I can barely touch the ground on the Husky at all!!

I was really looking forward to the Millicent Trip as Marnie & I had taken the Friday off before to travel & the week off after to spend in Adelaide. This plan fell apart after all the other girls who go pulled the pin & obviously Marnie didn
